JudyG's (Awoosh.com) Big Island Trip Report - A very nice trip report about the Big Island from a great photographer. Aloha Dive Company - 6 pack operator run by two “local” boys. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about local diving and history. Definitely a "dive your dive" operation. Back rolls off the boat. Nitrox available but make sure you call ahead and confirm. Although I had requested nitrox, through some mix up, it didn't make it to the boat. Good homemade refreshments. Dive Makai - Known for their briefings. Their motto is something like “Dive slow and slower.” Dove my own profile and computer. Bring your own nitrox. Costco muffins. Since I dove with Dive Makai, the business was sold. I do not know how this will change the operation. Kona Honu - Large boat with a nice set-up for cameras. Easy on/off the boat. Friendly crew. Allowed me to do my own thing and to dive my computer. Any blend of nitrox available on the boat. Good fresh fruit on board. I really enjoyed diving with Glenn and his staff. Kona Honu recently became a member of the SSI family. Pacific Rim Divers - It’s been a few years since I dove with Frank and Patrice but I saw Patrice on my last trip. She was as enthusiastic as ever. 6 pack operation. Allowed me to dive my own computer. Nitrox available. GREAT brownies! Sandwich Isle Divers - I have not personally used this operation. However, several people recommend them and I did stop in the shop and chat with them. Nice folks. Seems to me to be worth a try. Jack's Dive Locker - Many people use and recommend Jack’s Diving Locker. They are a big operation. I haven't personally used them Shore Diving the Big Island - Great site for information on shore diving. Volcanoes National Park - Seeing land created before your eyes is an incredible experience. Photos from the National Park. Pu’uhonua o Honaunau (Place of Refuge) National Historical Park - A very historical place with great shore diving. Shore Diving the Place of Refuge - Some information on shore diving at the Place of Refuge.
